Linda Watson grew up in Toronto and graduated from the University of Toronto in 1980 with her BScN. She started her career in Guelph Ontario at St. Joseph's Hospital and from there moved to Saskatoon Saskatchewan and worked in a Neonatal/Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for 4 years. Following that she spent 8 years working in Montreal in a surgical intensive care setting, returning to Toronto in 1994. At that point, Linda's career took a turn and she became a visiting nurse in downtown Toronto progressing to a Clinical Educator position. In 1998, Linda moved to ChathamKent and a few years after started her MScN studies, graduating in 2006. Linda's master research was published in the Journal of Intravenous Nursing.

In 2001, Linda took a position teaching in the School of Nursing at St. Clair College in Chatham. She taught in both the Practical Nursing and the Collaborative BScN programs. Linda has been the Chair of the School of Nursing at St. Clair College since 2014.
